He has served on the board of the Center for Creative Leadership and has been an invited speaker at industry events and professional conferences.
Most of his work in the last 25 years has been on executive evaluations, leadership development and executive succession at CEO and other senior management levels in global corporations in every business sector and on all continents. His clients have included GE, P&G, Merrill Lynch, Citicorp, Bank of America, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Merck, Elan, Lever, Disney, ARCO, the NY Times, the Times Mirror, United Airlines, American Airlines, Aetna, AT&T, Coca Cola, BASF, Xerox, Northeast Utilities and other major corporations. As a result of this work, he has gained tremendous insight into and knowledge about the way executives decide whom to hire and promote.
The subject of this book has been in his mind for a number of years because of its potential value for young people looking for their first post-college job and career path. He has pulled together many years of experience with the interview process into a small and practical book.
